Hot Springs & Baths

Arai Ryokan offers 2 public indoor hot-spring baths and 1 outdoor bath, all filled with natural thermal water from a local 61°C source. Two private reservable indoor hot-spring baths are available free of charge for guests who prefer seclusion. The main communal baths were designed by master artist Yasuda Yukihiko and are registered as cultural assets.

Rooms & Accommodations

Guestrooms at Arai Ryokan feature tatami (woven-straw) floors, futon beds, and shoji paper screens, with river or garden views. Each room includes a flat-screen TV, a green tea maker, and a private bathroom with a wooden barrel bath tub. A pillow menu allows guests to select their preferred pillow for sleeping.

Dining

Half-board stays at Arai Ryokan include a multi-course kaiseki dinner and a traditional Japanese breakfast served by a personal hostess. Special diet menus are available on request, including vegetarian options and alternatives for non-fish eaters. Meals feature local ingredients and are presented in the guest's room or a dedicated dining space.

Arai Ryokan sits in the center of the Shuzenji hot-spring district, a 5-minute walk from Shuzenji Temple and a 2-minute walk from a bamboo forest. Niji-no-Sato Theme Park is 2 km away, and the ryokan offers bicycle rental for exploring the area. Guests can also use on-site ping-pong tables or join tour or class about local culture.
